Jersey City, NJ Indian Fusion Wedding by BnB Photography

Happy Friday Maharanis! We hope you are having a fabulous day. Today we return with yet another amazing wedding feature that highlights some amazing vendors out of the East Coast. The Indian fusion nuptials of Rupali and Miguel were held in Jersey City, and when these lovebirds were ready to tie the knot, it was inevitable that wedding planners from Touch of Elegance Event Planners would be brought on to spearhead the execution of the blockbuster event. A glamorous outdoor ceremony setup at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City was dreamed up by the artists at Stylish Events, and the hot pink mandap juxtaposed against the glimmering NYC skyline made a mesmerizing visual. To prepare for the monumental event, the bride woke up bright and early for the royal treatment from Heena Das BeautyRupali was a vision of grace in kajal rimmed eyes and ruby red lips. She chose a fashion forward red lengha accessorized with layers of dazzling golden jewels. What a doll! She was surrounded by her adorable bridesmaids, who were rays of sunshine in ombre yellow saris. After the ladies were glammed up, it was time for Rupali to make her grand entrance. The emotional ceremony was filled with the sweetest moments, and we’re swooning over the adorable duo. Head into the full gallery for a plethora of pics captured by BnB Photography! We can’t wait to share all the magical live footage filmed by Swat Films. When we return, we’ll dive into all the chic reception deets!

Somerset, NJ Fusion Indian Wedding by KetaNuva

Welcome back to the ultra lux Indian fusion wedding of Abirami and Parag at The Palace at Somerset Park. What I loved the most about this wedding celebration was the amount of personal details that went into planning. The couple incorporated themes from their very love story into all the fine details. The venue itself was modeled after a European palace that was reminded the couple of Rome. The duo created scrolls for programs, wine corks for place holders, and table numbers with the coliseum on it. Kumkum Henna designed henna on the bride that showcased the NYC skyline on one arm and a plane flying over Rome with the Italy skyline on the other! For her reception party, Abirami wanted the full bridal experience and slipped into a gorgeous white gown that was perfectly contrasted with shimmery makeup by Sonia C. The expansive ballroom was filled with the harmonious sounds of DJ Essence as guests enjoyed the lovely cuisine catered by the prestigious Indian wedding catering service, Moghul. We have all the magical memories for you in our gallery by KetaNuva Studios that we just know you will love!

Somerset, NJ Fusion Indian Wedding by KetaNuva

We love a good love story and Abirami and Parag’s love journey is one for the fairy tale books. Their celebration was spread across several celebrations with each one exuding so much cultural fun. The duo met by chance during their college years at Pace University but it was their mutual friends that really knew there was a spark between this adorable couple. The bride shares a special memory about her proposal and our hearts are just fluttering with joy! "After going on dates for a few months, Parag and I were at seaport at our favorite spot overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge on September 08th, 2009. We sat for hours talking about everything from the smallest of things to our hopes and dreams. It was this day that I told Parag that my dream was to go to Italy. With all of our hopes and dreams lying in front of us, Parag asked me to be his girlfriend. Our fairy tale had begun to be written!” As most fusion Indian weddings go, the challenge was finding the right balance to honor both the bride and groom’s background. The series of events that followed were nothing short of perfection. The bride brought on prestigious henna artist Kumkum Henna to ensure that all her ethnic beauty shined bright on her wedding day. Of course, no Indian bride would be complete without her beauty squad and Sonia C was there to make sure that Abirami was a shining star. The baraat ceremony was led by DJ Essence to The Palace at Somerset Park where Wedding Design outfitted the venue with all the Indian wedding decor you heart can take! Tucked away in our gallery is all the coveted memories shot by KetaNuva Photography.

Detroit, Michigan Indian Wedding by Ray Anthony Photography

Morning Maharanis! We’ve arrived at the The last event of Meera and Hirsh’s reception celebration. Primp Beauty showed up for their last day as the beauty squad extraordinaires to transform the bride into a regal queen. Meera was a mesmerizing vision in an emerald green lehenga and was a striking contrast against the dreamy purple and pink draped venue. Under the creative direction of Top That! Event, the spacious quarters were covered in lush florals, silky fabrics, and a sweeping sweetheart stage. Guests dined on sensational cuisine from Krishna Catering and were in bliss at every savory bite. This wedding was perfection from beginning to end, and the Main Maharani was kind enough to share some advice with brides-to-bes: Live in the moment of the wedding and remember the wedding is the beginning of a new adventure, it is not THE adventure. Things will go wrong but I promise more things will go right, and if you have the right people surrounding you on your day (friends, family, your planner), you will never know what went wrong!” Wise wordsRay Anthony Photography has truly captured the elegance of Meera and Hirsh’s big day in our amazing full gallery. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?

We knew each other as acquaintances in high school, however started dating a few years into college. We both went to Michigan State. He was beginning medical school at this time. We dated for 8.5 years before we got married!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!

It was my birthday weekend and we planned to go to Oval Beach to spend the day in Sagatuck, MI. On the way up, we stopped at Michigan State University on the way up to have lunch at our favorite college spot, a Thai restaurant. It also "happened" to be where our first date was. We went on a walk during sunset and he got down on one knee and proposed. Our families had a lunch planned for the next day when we got back home. It was perfect.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.

I always dreamed about what my wedding would be like and honestly my wedding was nothing like my dreams. After being in a relationship for a very long time, I had very realistic expectations for our wedding and really only cared about celebrating our love with our guest. My whole approach to wedding planning was "this is the only time we will be in the same room with everyone we care about." I chose Blissful Weddings & Events as my planner because my sister-in-law had used Rajul. I knew it would be a wonderful experience and it really was. I believe I had the best vendors ever. They were so easy to work with and great people overall. I chose Top That! because I wanted one company to handle the decor and floral- they exceeded my expectations. We chose Ray Anthony because I loved his documentary style photography. After meeting Ray and Beth, I knew Ray had to be our photographer. 97 Flims was the same thing, I loved the style and Katie was amazing. I really based a lot of my choices for vendors in my interactions with them. My theme was jewel tones for the reception.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?

The designer for all my outfits was Amy Billimoria. I knew I wanted a traditional lengha with a beige/cream colored lengha and less red. I saw the lengha at Amy's boutique and fell in love. I did all my shopping for all my events in under 3 hours. Amy really understood my vision and designed my reception outfit and my sangeet outfit off the vision.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?

The most enjoyable part was food tasting and cake tasting. Cake is my favorite dessert and MGM Grand has the best cake ever.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

The speeches by our parents, siblings, and Hirsh were very special. We are not a PDA-type couple but Hirsh's speech was so heartfelt and moving.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.

I have danced for 22 years of my life and all of my cousins dance so our family dance was very special. Hirsh also danced with his family which was amazing.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?

Live in the moment of the wedding and remember the wedding is the beginning of a new adventure, it is not THE adventure. Things will go wrong but I promise more things will go right, and if you have the right people surrounding you on your wedding day (friends, family, your planner), you will never know what went wrong!

Thanks for sharing Meera! Have a wonderful weekend Maharanis!

Detroit, Michigan Indian Wedding by Ray Anthony Photography

Today’s adorable lovebirds, Meera and Hirsh, first met as high school students, and began dating soon afterwards in college. After an extraordinary 8+ year relationship filled with magical moments, Hirsh proposed to his Maharani at a Thai restaurant on campus at Michigan State. These star crossed lovers set to work planning an auspicious wedding occasion in Detroit, Michigan and hired Blissful Weddings & Events to helm all planning duties. Once all the details were perfectly set in place, the wedding weekend arrived in a flash of vibrant color and rich Indian traditions. Meera started the morning of her big day with her lovely ladies surrounding her with smiles and positive energy. The beauty squad from Primp Beauty joined the ladies to add all the glam beauty touches, including kohl rimmed eyes, fluttering eyelashes, and peachy lips. The bride’s multifaceted gold and red lengha was gorgeously paired with striking gold jewelry. After being dolled to perfection, Meera was ready for her stroll down the floral covered pathway in her majestic Indian wedding ceremony. We absolutely adored the chic, asymmetric mandap, featuring gauzy fabrics and breathtaking florals by Top That! Event. Artists from Ray Anthony Photography were there every step of the way to capture this adorable couple’s vows, and you can peruse all the emotional moments in the full gallery. In our next post, we’ll cover all the whimsical reception festivities with delish bites from Krishna Catering!
