Today, our protagonists are the lovely Sabeena & Arjun, who had a one-of-a-kind celebration in Cancun. Get your passport ready, ladies! We are going straight to the beautiful Moon Palace The Grand, where our couple commemorated their union. This paradise on earth offers a marvelous environment for any celebration and a complete team of professionals to assist their clients' every need. Our couple took full advantage of this for their wedding, with Evoke Décor Studio and Amada Flower Design Studio's assistance to craft the astonishing decor. With the gifted Amar Sandhu behind the mic, the guests were delighted by this artist's talent. The cheerful ambiance only improved with DJ Tej and his excellent music taste to keep everyone dancing the night away. Our divine Maharani, Sabeena, was a shining star with her stunning attire courtesy of Raj Gharana and the delicate traces Loto Mehndi did on her sun-kissed skin. The Styling Trio gave the bride some finishing touches with their artistic makeup, emphasizing her elegant features. She was radiant! With the dashing groom, Arjun, looking as magnificent as ever, our couple was set to relish Cancun's breathtaking beaches! The lovebirds' grand event was designed by the unique Dream Shaadi, and the result exceeded any possible expectation! Our couples' only worry was to enjoy the day as much as possible while the Indian Destination Wedding's proficient team kept all the arrangements in check, giving the sweethearts a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sabeena & Arjun's wedding was undoubtedly an exceptional celebration that none will forget. Nevertheless, Federico Salmeron Photo and his unbelievable skills with the camera captured all the highlights for our couple to cherish. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met on a dating platform called bumble. Arjun lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and I live in Fresno,California.
Arjun and I talked everyday and FaceTimed a lot before he decided that he would come visit me in Fresno,California. We spent hours and hours on the phone and not once did it feel awkward!
Arjun flew to see me in Fresno and I picked him up from the airport. I saw him standing there waiting with the biggest smile ever holding a bouquet of flowers! We went to eat lunch and throughout our day, the conversations we had were so real and deep!
I knew Arjun was the one for me with how patient, caring, and loving he is with me. He always goes the extra mile to make sure that I am always happy and comfortable!
Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
I went to Salt Lake City, Utah to see Arjun and he tells me that we are going out to dinner that evening. I get dressed in a black dress and he is wearing a black suit. I always get super excited when we dress up and go to places! We were getting ready to leave and I leave the house to see a limo parked outside. I thought to myself hmmm this is too fancy to JUST go to dinner! Lol but he promised me that we were doing that. Then he took me up the hills of Salt Lake City, Utah near the Capitol. Arjun opened the door and I got out and saw a cute under the star picnic set up. While we were eating he popped the question and asked if I would marry him! Then I noticed a videographer and photographer come out of no where! I said yes and it most magical feeling ever!!!
Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Arjun and I worked with Dream Shaadi and we chose to get married at The Grand Moon Palace in Cancún, Mexico. Him and I both always wanted a destination wedding and we spend every week with our favorite wedding planner. Sumeet Bagai planning the ins and outs of our wedding and made sure everything we envisioned for our wedding would come into reality!
We know finding vendors in Mexico was going to be a challenge, but we were very pleased with our vendors at The Grand Moon Palace. Our vendors for the decor did an amazing job with decor and exceeded our expectations! Styling Trio also did an amazing job with my hair and make up and helped me get ready for all the events!
How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Arjun and I had a fusion wedding with one Sikh Ceremony and one Hindu Ceremony to embrace both cultures. I knew I wanted a different approach to my wedding lengha and choose a color that was different from red and pink. I made multiple appointments to try on wedding lengha’s and I finally found Raj Gharana who was able to customize my wedding dress! I went with a teal color with an elephant, palki, and peacock motif for a royal look.
For the Hindu wedding ceremony, I choose a light pink and navy blue color with heavy embroidery. I absolutely loved my bridal lengha and felt like a princess in them. It was very royal and different from the traditional red lengha which is what I wanted. My guests continuously asked where I got my lengha from!
What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the planning process was Arjun being by my side throughout the whole process. He was so in tune and focused to make sure everything from food and decor was perfectly executed! Being in the states and planning a destination wedding in Mexico was a little worrisome but with Arjun by my side we were able to plan everything perfectly and made the process that much more fun and exciting!
What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved our destination wedding in Cancún, Mexico! Arjun and I were the first ones to have a destination wedding on both sides of the family so everyone was in awe with how well everything was executed from the moment they were picked up from the airport, their accommodations, and especially raved how delicious the Indian food was in Mexico!! Our guests were able to attend our wedding events but also had a chance to make it a mini vacation as well. Our guests loved the resort venue and how through the events and days were planned out. Huge shout out to Indian Destination Weddings and Dream Shaadi for making our guests feel welcomed and made their trip so much easier!
Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
The moment Arjun and I looked at each other at the wedding venue for both weddings is something I will never forget. We both gazed into each other’s eyes and felt more in love than ever before. Arjun was smiling throughout the entire Hindu Wedding Ceremony and seeing him smile so big just made this moment so much more special.
For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
For the haldi/mehndi ceremony we went with a vibrant pink and yellow theme! We choose the Lilly garden location at The Grand Moon Palace. We had yellow and pink flowers as a beautiful backdrop and had a guest mehndi station set up so our guests can get mehndi applied on their hands. We also had a food station for our guests which included a pani puri station and an ice cream station. Our guests absolutely loved this!
For our Sangeet. We went with vibrant Jaago colors such as orange, red, blue, pink, yellow. Each table had a different colored table cloth with a beautiful centerpiece. We also had hanging colored lantern lights along with different colored drapes hanging from the top. Our backdrop included vibrant umbrellas as a focal point for pictures.
For our reception, we choose a Royal gold and black theme. I wore a gold lengha and Arjun wore a long black coat. We had a couple of our family members from both sides give a special speech which was truly heart touching. To end the last night in Cancún with a bang we had a special guest performance by Amar Sandhu! None of our guests knew this was going to happen, so when he came out and performed it was truly amazing!
Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Always search for new ways to show your spouse how much you love him! Appreciate him and care for him and don’t ever stop working on your marriage! Communication is key!
