Thanks to the meticulous planning and design by the talented team at Big Guava Events, every detail was meticulously curated, orchestrating a seamless symphony of colors, textures, and emotions that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the couple's journey. Nikun Events lent their magic touch to the lovely decor. Beauty Marked worked their artistry, ensuring Sapna glowed with an ethereal radiance that would captivate all hearts. 5th Element Catering curated a feast that delighted every guest. DJ Sangeen from Awaaz Entertainment filled the night with melodies that set hearts dancing to the rhythm of love. Sona Photography, much like its name's meaning of 'gold,' epitomizes the precious essence of Sapna & Swapnil's wedding. How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We "un-officially" met at Georgia Tech Garba in 2013 (all Swapnil remembers is seeing a very sweaty me post dancing) but, officially met a few weeks later when Swapnil came to Athens for his fall break with his roommates. After a few months of talking, we started dating in January of 2014 and the rest was history. 

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Swapnil proposed on May 8, 2021 at a beautiful winery in Temecula, California. I thought I was going on a weekend trip to Temecula with my friends but, was completely surprised when the "wine tour" turned out to be a proposal on the property. The surprises didn't end there. When Swapnil & I reached the AirBnb in Temecula, I was surprised by friends & family that flew out from the East Coast to celebrate the special day.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My wedding lengha was inspired by my mom's wedding saree. I was inspired by all of the colors and elements within her saree and wanted to incorporate that into my wedding lengha somehow as a tribute to her. My designer, Tania, did such a beautiful job in designing my wedding lengha - I'll never forget us sitting on the floor of her studio picking colors, embroidery types, and ironing out all the details. I was really so happy with how it turned out!!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?

I think the most special part of our wedding weekend was seeing all of our loved ones from all facets of life (friends, cousins, grandparents, family, coworkers, etc.) all in one room to celebrate us. I remember feeling so much gratitude and love to be able to celebrate with each and every one of them.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
1. The most enjoyable part of the planning process for me was being able to incorporate mine and Swapnil's personalities into certain details of our wedding weekend. Examples of this were:
2. My lavender Sangeet lengha (inspired by Jacaranda Trees and an ode to my South African Heritage)
3. Swapnil playing the violin (and instrument he's played for over 10 years) at our Sangeet
4. Our "starry night" themed wedding - this stemmed from our names meaning "Dream" but also Swapnil's love for Space

The venue exuded a royal charm with the expert touch of Abhishek Decorators. Reshma got ready with the talented artists from Color Me Rouge, who expertly styled her hair, and makeup and draped her saree with precision and care, enhancing her natural glow. With each stroke of their brushes and every delicate twist of fabric, they brought out the true essence of Reshma's elegance and grace. Under the starry night, DJ Sunny Entertainment set the mood with rhythmic beats, inviting guests to dance the night away. House of Talent Studio was there to capture each precious instant. Each image served as a timeless memento, immortalizing the essence of their wedding day and preserving cherished memories for a lifetime of reminiscence. Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Wedding planning and preparations are very time-sensitive. Thankfully we had wonderful vendors who graciously answered our detailed questions and helped make our wedding weekend into such a memorable event. Our wedding planner guided us and helped us stay on track so that our dreams were able to come to fruition.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part was having everything come to life and go smoothly as planned (and on time!). Our friends and family were able to celebrate with us, which meant everything.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
The food (Chaand Palace & Moghul Catering) and Venue (Hyatt Regency Princeton) made a lasting impression on all the guests as everyone was memorized by all the events, decorations, displays, and food options.

Saturday October 15th (All day) - Baraat + Wedding & Cocktail Hour + Reception

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I had a bird's eye view from inside the hotel on the top floor on the morning of the baraat. When the DJ announced my name and pointed to where I was, I had 450+ people turn their heads and cheer me on. They were not only looking but smiling and dancing alongside me! Even though I couldn't hear the music, I was told my dance moves were on beat with the music!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Work on the wedding planning together. This is a special occasion for both of you, and you should not take that lightly. Spend time and understand what each other wants. Take breaks from the wedding planning and also remember to enjoy the present time!
Also, make sure you have a system, write everything down, and keep organized!
Remember to enjoy the moment and let go of your worries on your special day.

With meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of cultural nuances, they orchestrated a seamless and enchanting experience for the couple and their guests. Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort set the stage for an unforgettable wedding celebration. Its picturesque setting and attentive service allowed their love to blossom and their dreams to come true, creating an everlasting bond that would last a lifetime. The ethereal venue came alive with enchantment, expertly brought to life by the talented team at Preeti Exclusive. Jigna's beauty, skillfully enhanced by the talented Alex Corbanez, reflected her inner radiance and joy as she got her hands adorned with henna artistry by Loto Mehndi. The guests were treated to an exquisite culinary experience courtesy of Patravali Indian Cuisine. The delightful beats by Premier Entertainment added rhythm to the festivities, beckoning everyone to hit the dance floor. Tell us how you went about planning your wedding and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
We used our amazing planner @Preetiexclusive to help us find all of our day of vendors, including venue/HMUA/decor and theme.  Alex and I brought Pinterest boards and Google docs with photos of inspiration for what types of look and feel we were going for, and Preeti helped us figure out what we could achieve with the vendors in Mexico as well as our Resorts catalog of offerings. For outfits, I followed a bunch of designer Indian brands as soon as we got engaged so that I could get inspiration on bridal outfits as well as stores where I could find affordable options.  My mom and dad also took a trip to India to find affordable outfits for some of our events as well as matching outfits for our immediate family.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
My bridal lengha was actually not as big of a purchase as my sangeet and reception outfit. I knew I wanted a classic red dress that was timeless, so I went pretty basic. For the other events, I wanted to go for something more trendy or playful. For my sangeet, I got a pastel embroidered lengha from Chamee & Paalak, and for my reception, I got a white and gold floral embroidered lengha by Seema Gujral from ShopKynah.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the process was working together with Alex to make decisions on what did and didn't matter to us for our wedding. We knew we wanted this wedding to be intimate and fun, so we prioritized the things that would make lasting memories rather than trying to please others.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Our guests loved the food and the fun at our wedding. Our caterer @PatravaliCancun brought amazing flavors for us, and our DJ @DJAmbition brought so much hype to our wedding. Because our guest list was atypically small, each and every guest got to know each other and spend time with us - which is not common for a lot of South Asian weddings. That intimacy made this event all the more memorable and special.

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
Alex (the groom) makes his own music, and we had his Best Man perform his original music at the wedding. @DJAmbition also surprised us on the dancefloor during our reception with his original music. It was an incredible feeling when everyone was singing along and jamming out to his own song. It felt like he was a rockstar!
