Rockleigh, NJ, Indian Wedding by Jashim Jalal Studios

Good morning, Maharanis! I love to treat all of you, darlings, with the most remarkable celebrations for you to be inspired. And today is no different! We have a charming couple who celebrated their marriage on a beautiful autumn day with a spectacular event to commemorate their forever. Reena & Bobby are the lovebirds of today's story. As one's special day approaches, a swirl of emotions is bound to come with it. Thankfully, the team from L&B Events made sure to make our bride's experience as stress-free as possible with a detailed plan and excellent execution of it, allowing our gorgeous Maharani and her handsome groom to savor their day to the fullest! The wedding took place at a dreamland better known as The Rockleigh. These venues are entirely taken out of a fantasy, providing top-notch quality and personalized service to assist their clients in planning impeccable events. And this wedding was no exception! One of the details that I enjoyed the most about this celebration was the decor. Exclusive Events NY did justice to their name, granting magnificent scenery for our royal couple. Ladies, I guarantee you will fall head-over-heels for these divine bouquets. Beauty was all over the place, but our Maharani glorious looks took everyone's breath away! Beauty by Pashka praised Reena's natural beauty with delightful shades that perfectly matched her attire. Of course, this lovely bride's look couldn't be complete without the stunning jewelry only Nazrana can offer, giving an extra spark to the radiant bride. I am sure such an exceptional moment won't ever be forgotten. Jashim Jalal Studios captured the essence of this romance through a set of wholesome pictures. Ladies, you don't want to miss this fabulous gallery ready for you to boost your imagination!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
I have always been attracted to big things, so naturally, my dating profile was filtered to men that were 6 feet or above. Trying to find men that tall on Dil Mil was like finding a unicorn, and only left me with a handful of people that I was not interested in. I was just about to give up on finding love until something told me to try something different. I literally “lowered” my standards to 5 feet 9 inches and above. Lo and behold, Bobby appeared to me. I swiped right and we both matched! We hit it off from the start and would talk and laugh for hours until the sun came up. Even though we both had busy schedules, not to mention a 3-hour time difference considering I live in NY and he lives in CA, we both always made time for each other. There was something about Bobby that I knew he was my soulmate instantaneously. He was kindhearted, charismatic, funny, family-oriented, and has a heart of gold. I told my sisters and best friends that he was going to be my husband before we even met up. They thought I was crazy, but sometimes when you know, you know! We talked for a few months before deciding to meet up in NY and the rest is history! Bobby’s huge heart puts him above 6 feet tall in my eyes! Lesson learned; big things come in small packages!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Bobby and I had a weekend getaway to Napa where he took me to Chappellet Winery. We went to a private area to the top of a hill with breathtaking views overlooking Lake Hennessey. There was a cute picnic set up with a charcuterie board, wine, and champagne. He dropped down on one knee, of course, I said yes and we had a romantic picnic.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
After getting engaged, the first thing I did was find a wedding planner! With busy work schedules, my fiance living across the country, and me personally hating to plan, investing in a wedding planner was a must. L&B events was nothing but amazing!!! We told them our vision which was elegant and regal which they brought to fruition. They recommended amazing vendors, planned the day flawlessly, and thought of things that we would never think of! We were able to enjoy our wedding completely stress-free and we can never thank them enough! Highly recommend them!

I wrote down things that were most important to us on our wedding day. We wanted delicious food, beautiful pictures, great music/entertainment, and a makeup artist/hairstylist to make me look and feel like a million bucks. Those were the areas that we splurged and were more picky with. We booked the venue, the Rockleigh in NJ which is stunning with tons of different areas to take scenic pictures. They have a ton of different selections for food and the service was impeccable. Afterwards, we booked the church which was the church my fiance attended growing up. The next thing I did was find a makeup artist. I am very picky with makeup and literally did 3 different trials which I hated and made me look strange. I wanted to look like myself but have my features accentuated. I finally bumped into Pashka who did amazing hair and makeup. I have been to hundreds of weddings so DJ USA with Marco was a must to get the party started! Finally, I wanted to book a photographer that would capture and portray emotion through pictures. Jashim Jalal Photography captured our special moments that will last a lifetime!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I have always loved lace and Pronovias gowns in general so I had to make an appointment with them. My wedding was during the fall so I wanted a long sleeve gown to go with the regal theme. For my reception lengha, I always shop at Nazranaa so it was a no-brainer to purchase my gown from them. I told Shia that I wanted to look regal with gold tones and contrast with red jewelry. The service and quality are great and they altered to perfection.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
The most enjoyable part of the wedding process was the FOOD TASTING! I am a huge foodie! Who doesn't love to have a whole selection of food to eat from?!?! The great part about the Rockleigh was we had the opportunity to customize the items to our palette (ex: want more spice or less salt etc) and make it our own.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
I think the guests really enjoyed the finely curated tasting station of various high-end spirits from around the world thanks to Silicon Valley Fine Wine and Spirits. It definitely helped our guests have a great time!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
I will always remember walking down the aisle and seeing Bobby standing at the altar. It was a moment of pure genuine happiness and knowing it was the beginning of a new special chapter.

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
We went with Exclusive Events and I showed Sonam a picture of what I wanted. Something romantic and elegant with tons ivory and pale pink flowers, pampas, and loads of candles. Bobby and I were stunned when we first walked into our reception room and couldn't be happier.
Our bridemaids, family, and friends did a beautiful dance that will always be remembered!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Get a wedding planner! I know it's an investment but it is TOTALLY worth it. We truly were able to enjoy our wedding the day of, mingle with guests, eat food, dance, party and have a blast! Your wedding is a day that you will always remember and is very special. Investing in a great wedding planner will make your wedding day stress free and even more memorable!

That is all for this entry, my dears. Keep coming back for more amour!

How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
We met over super bowl weekend in Houston through mutual friends. I knew he was “the one” after he met my family and saw how much everyone loved him.

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
He proposed to me at the Dallas Arboretum in the Secret Garden. I walked in and there were three skylines- each for each city that played a part in our love story- Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Each sky like had a note and as I made my way around there was a violinist playing a special song for each city. At the end he was standing there with a ring in hand.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
I would not have been able to do any of this without my amazing wedding planner Nirali Shah Events. Everything was so seamless and easy. My vendors were easy to work with and made all of our wedding dreams come true!

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted something a little different and more whimsical to go with our “Badarfly” theme for the Sangeet. We had our decor tie in to our outfits and it pulled the whole look together beautifully. For the reception I wanted something a little more timeless and soft. The train on my lehnga sold me on the Elan outfit!

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I think the food was both of our favorite part of planning! We are both huge foodies and we knew we wanted the dinner both nights to exceed everyone’s expectations!

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
After our wedding the thing we heard multiple times from our guests was how fun the dance floor was the whole weekend! We both were having so much fun and the energy was unmatched, everyone quite literally danced the entire night away! Shoutout to our amazing DJ for keeping the vibes on point!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
My brother in law from Ireland surprised me right before I walked in on the Sangeet!! He had been in a long-standing visa application process for months leading up to the wedding. As the day quickly approached I had to accept that he most likely wouldn’t be able to attend, and I had always said I did not want to have my wedding without him there. The night before my Sangeet he received his approval and he quickly booked a flight, flew over 20 hours, and landed just before the event. Somehow my whole family managed to keep this a secret! I replay the moment the door swung open and he walked in over and over in my mind. My heart was so full and so happy! There was some definite ugly crying that took place, but no regrets!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
I wanted to keep the Sangeet super whimsical and ethereal. We had lots of flowers and lights and our dance floor looked like a vintage Persian rug, which I absolutely loved!! Our stage was definitely A MOMENT.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Nobody will remember the little things, so don’t sweat it! Concentrate on the overall vibe you want to have and the feeling you want everyone to walk away with.

My dears, come back tomorrow for a new love story!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
Rahim proposed to me in a beautiful mountainous location in Olympic National Park in Washington. I had been telling him for years that there is no way he will ever be able to surprise me, but he got me. We were already going to the National Park and Seattle for a short trip, and I didn't really suspect anything since I figured proposing to me on a trip would be obvious. Also, it was his birthday that day! But he thought that would be perfect to throw me off since I wouldn't expect him to propose on his birthday. Anyway, we got up to the area where there was an amazing backdrop of snow covered mountains and we were there early for a hike on a weekday so no one was there other than 1-2 people. I wanted to take a picture of the scenery so we went out on a snow covered field. There was one person nearby with an actual professional camera so he pretended to ask her to take a picture of us with his phone, which we did. But the woman was actually a photographer he hired so next thing I knew he got down on his knee and I was so confused for a few seconds! It was perfect. He definitely surprised me, and still gloats about it to this day. :)

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
I knew I wanted a ivory type color for both my nikkah saree and my reception outfit. For my saree, I found a gorgeous saree from Torani online and they helped me customize to make minor changes. For my reception outfit, I knew I would definitely be getting from PanachebySharmeen in Houston, TX. She helped me design the outfit based on a couple pictures I found as inspirations. I didn't have a specific vision at the beginning, but she sent a sketchup of the entire design, and I loved the end result. Everything came out perfectly.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
Many of our guests, and us, were in love with the Decor by EventsbyFaiza. Faiza executed our vision of the stage perfectly and made the rest of the room look even better than we initially envisioned. The colors and design were elegant and modern to give us the exact vibe we were hoping for. Secondly, our guests loved the dance floor! Shout out to DJ Mo-T for doing such a great job. Even towards the end of the night, nobody wanted to stop dancing!

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
The wedding will go by so fast, it almost feels like a blur! Definitely enjoy every moment of it. On the day of, don’t let the stress of planning and anything else get to you. Just let it go, and have fun!

Stay tuned if you don't want to miss any of the romantic love stories we have for this week!

Coral Springs, FL Fusion Wedding by Sugarfree Studio

Happy Thursday, ladies! If you are like us and you never get enough of these beautiful celebrations of love, today's fusion wedding will take your breath away! Kristina & Shayam's wedding overflows with so much beauty, and we are really excited because this time, there is not one but two wedding ceremonies that marked the start of a lifetime love story for this sweet young couple. Lucky guys! The Hindu wedding ceremony and the reception took place at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center, while the Nikkah ceremony took place at Nur Ul Islam. And we cannot think of better places to have hosted these wedding festivities as everything turned out to be amazing. It was all a cornucopia of beauty and traditional flair thanks to Salsan Events, who put together a magical and almost unreal setting, more than suitable for the different ceremonies and activities. The colorful decor and the gorgeous floral arrangements created the perfect backdrop for Kristina & Shayam to tie the knot. There was so much beauty all over the place, but nothing compared to Kristina's stunning look. She had the best allies by her side! Glam by Mevi took care of her beauty needs while Pronovias and Badgley Mischka took her of her fashion needs. The final result: Absolute beauty! And we are so glad to have the opportunity to enjoy the beginning of this everlasting love story, thanks to the spectacular shots captured by Sugarfree Studio, as every single image is mesmerizing and enchanting! How did you meet your Groom and when did you know he was "the one"?
Shayam and I actually met when we were 15 years old and over the years he became best friends with my brothers. Little did I know back then that I would end up marrying my brother's best friend, but fast forward a few years to adults and our friendship turned to romance. I knew he was the one because once we started dating he kept saying I am going to marry you!

Share the scoop on your Proposal Story!
We actually had just purchased our first home together and after weeks of renovations, he surprised me with a getaway trip to the Keys. We stayed on a beautiful private island at the Sunset Key Cottages resort.  I must say, I wasn't one for the fairytales and big surprises, but this man blew me away. He proposed on the beach just before sunset. Funny thing is I saw a woman hiding in the bushes before he proposed and come to find out it was a photographer waiting to take pictures of us.

Tell us how you went about planning your wedding, and your overall experience with the Venues, Hair & Makeup, Outfits, Decor Theme, and all of the other important details.
Shortly after our engagement we got married legally and being that we just purchased a home, we decided to take a year and half to plan our official wedding ceremonies and reception. The religious aspects of our marriage was just as important to us as legally being married especially getting to share the moment with our loved ones. We had 3 venues and thankfully all went well. Our Hindu ceremony was held at the Coral Springs Center of the Arts in their courtyard. Our Nikah ceremony was held at Nur Ul Islam in Cooper City and our reception was held at The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs.  A great photo and videographer was needed and Sugarfree Studio took good care of us capturing these wonderful moments! I did freelance makeup on the side, so it was only natural for me to do my own bridal makeup each day! A lot of work for a bride, but I was happy to do it.  My overall experience with the vendors went well and I am glad I had an amazing wedding coordinator Chire Harvey to help make it happen on the wedding weekend.

How did you select your bridal lengha or wedding dress? Did you have a favorite color in mind?
Our wedding was in the fall and I wanted to incorporate those jewel toned colors that we felt brought a classic touch with deep hues for my bridal outfits. I went with reds and gold for our Hindu ceremony and emerald green for our Nikah.  For my reception look I always wanted to wear a white Pronovias wedding dress for their beautiful delicate lace detail.

What was the most enjoyable part of the planning process, and why?
I would say the most enjoyable part of planning was preparing for our first dance. We took ballroom dancing classes at Fred Astaire in Delray Beach with the wonderful Vanessa Iurman.  This was something I always wanted to do, and we got to experience it in preparation for our first dance on our reception night.

What did your guests particularly love about your Wedding?
They loved the dancing and entertainment!

Was there a really special moment in your wedding that constantly replays in your mind?
There was a moment when my husband and I said with relief, we did it!

For events other than your ceremony, please tell us as much as you would like about the decor, style, dances, and all the special details.
Indian Dance Instructor: Jayadevi Arts helped us coordinate a dance routine after our hindu ceremony to surprise our guests.

Do you have any words of wisdom for Brides-To-Be?
Take everything one day at a time.  Wedding planning and preparing for the big day can be overwhelming, but it is so important to remember to enjoy it while in the moment because all you have left are those memories.

Friday is right around the corner, and with it, we have a new love story for you! So make sure to join us tomorrow if you don't want to miss it.
