From the bride, on choosing the bridal fashions:

"I actually wore a gown for the wedding and picked it out from Winnie Couture. As for the lengha that I wore for the open dance floor portion of the reception, we went to India with my parents and my fiance to go wedding shopping. Picking out the lengha was probably the easiest part of the whole process, because it caught my husband's eye and he picked it out for me."

On the first dance:

"Choosing a song for our first dance was probably one of the hardest parts of wedding planning. My husband and I are very different and have very different tastes. After many disagreements about this, we both listened to 'A Drop in the Ocean,' by Ron Pope & we knew that it was the one because we both really liked it and felt that it reflected how we felt about each other."

Hope you enjoyed seeing this day unfold, my luvs! See ya later!

From the bride, on how she met her groom-to-be:

"I first met my husband at a birthday party for two of our friends. He was there for one birthday girl and I was there for the other, and neither of us thought that we would be able to make it to the party, but somehow we did. As far as knowing when he was the one, something inside me told me that the very first time I met him and later he revealed (without me telling him first) that he felt the same way too, and that's what solidified it for me."

On an engagement memory:

"I was born in India, but have grown up in the U.S. and have been here for most of my life. However, most of my extended family is in India, including my grandparents. My husband was born and raised in Chicago, and had not been to India in about 14 years. He also has a lot of extended family there. Therefore, we decided to have our engagement ceremony in India so that they could all be a part of it. This was probably the best decision that we could have made because it was such an amazing experience for both of us, that was so full of love and happiness. We were able to renew a lot of connections with our family members there and seeing my grandparents welcome my husband into our family and giving him their blessing is something that meant a lot to me."

On hair & makeup:

"As far as hair and makeup, I already knew what I wanted and came prepared to my trial with pictures in hand. However, Lara from Empire Faces, really helped to perfect the color palatte and look that I was going for."

On the wedding style:

"When I sat down to figure out what I wanted our wedding theme to be, I wanted it to reflect our personalities and relationship: bright, energetic and happy. I've always felt that the floral aspect of receptions really brought everything together, so I started there by searching photography sites for examples of centerpieces. I found one that was really eye-catching and got inspired from there. The arrangement included peonies, hydrangeas, lilies, and roses in bright colors of fuschia pink, lime green, orange and yellow. Next I started searching for an invitation, because that is the first impression that guests will get of what the event will be like and I was lucky enough to find one that fit in perfectly with the theme. After that, I went on to look for my bridesmaids saris and again, found one that was unique and had all of the colors that I wanted to incorporate. And the rest is history...it was easy after that to incorporate other pieces that made my vision come to life."

On a special moment:

"Entering the church and coming down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband standing at the end with a huge smile on his face is probably the thing that I will remember the most. Also, my dad tearing up when he gave my hand to my husband is another memory that I think I'll always cherish."

That's so sweet! Pics from the reception are up next!
